Today, one of the staffers in my office wore a white skirt so short and tight, you could see her leopard thong through it. And she had the audacity to comment that I should wear heels more often.
Look, staffers. We feel for you. Really. We understand that it must be difficult to have your home invaded by hundreds of college students every summer. But you can’t lump us all into one category. Some of us also hate the other interns wearing khakis with blue blazers and too-short skirts, hell bent on getting wasted at a reception every night. In fact, some of us work as hard as you, doing the jobs you don’t want. We sit in the softball field, run mail, clean the fridge, give tours, fetch coffee. We don’t get paid to do it and many of us keep our mouths shut because we’re hoping, eventually, to have your job.
So interns, this blog is for you. To gripe about staffers, the interns making us look bad, the bullshit jobs, whatever comes around. And staffers, if you want to give us some positive comments, we might take those as well. Send your submissions to internsfightback@gmail.com. And please, no directly naming or identifying anyone. We want this be a place to share, not libel specific individuals. And everything submitted will remain completely anonymous as well.
